Morality Meme
Jan. 18th, 2007 05:03 pmBeing a teenager is a time of questioning the values you learned when growing up, and measuring them against the experiences you're starting to have as an adult. Add Milliways to the mix? Specially with three very diverse rolemodels such as Archie Kennedy, Merriman Lyon, and Jack Sparrow? Ooooh boy. Specially when I know that the answers to this meme would have been different, if he took it a year ago, and probably will be different again in another year from now.
What's the worst thing someone could do?
Condemning themselves or others to Evil.
What's the worst thing someone could do to you?
Attack and hurt those I care about.
What's the worst thing that could happen to you?
... It would be tempted fate to say that they have already happened, wouldn't it? I have died, and the Dark tried to kill me again, then also tempt me. I would say that those have been the worse, already.
What's the worst thing someone could say about a person?
That they have no honor.
What's the best thing someone could say about a person?
That they trust and care about them.
Are men and women basically different?
Of course they are, yes.
Which is better, to be a woman or to be a man?
Probably to be a man, as there are still quite a few things that women are generally not allowed to do- or rather, that society says they are not allowed to do.
What can men do that women can't do?
Given it is more of a question of what society allows them- and then there are those who ignore such superficial restraints- probably not a lot that they cannot do.
What can women do that men can't do?
Have children.
Is it possible to change genders?
... None that I know of. Given the idea of magic, though... *he rubs the bridge of his nose*
How old is old enough to have sex?
*red* Ah. Um. It probably depends on... various things and situations. 16?
Is it wrong to have sex if you're unmarried?
Ah... no.
Is it wrong to have sex with someone other than your spouse if you're married?
It would be, yes- though I understand that some do. It just does not seem right to do so, however.
Is it wrong to have sex with a person of the same gender?
*raised eyebrow* Yes.
Is it wrong to have sex with a person of a different race (or a different intelligent non-human species)?
Ah. Um. Given what I've learned of other races here, it probably isn't wrong. Other species- ah. *bright red* It may not even work.
Is it wrong to have more than one sexual partner at the same time?
If you are married, yes. If not... *wry smirk* Only if they find out about each other, I would imagine.
Is it wrong to have sex with someone you don't love?
*he bites his lip* Maybe not? Though I would hope there would be at least some measure of respect and kindness, if there wasn't any love.
What are the responsibilities of a mother toward a child?
To raise and care for them, particularly when they are young. Then for a daughter, to teach her what she needs to know as a lady.
What are the responsibilities of a father toward a child?
To teach and guide them, specially the rights and wrongs of life. Then, to a son, his place in the world.
What are the responsibilities of a child toward a parent?
To respect and listen to them.
Which should be more important to you, your parent or your child?
It is a parent's duty to take care of their children, so they would be more important to take care of them, and protect them.
Which should be more important to you, your parent or your spouse?
Your spouse.
Which should be more important to you, your child or your spouse?
Your spouse, though I do believe that a man and wife would then be working together to take care of their children.
Is it wrong to have a child if you're unmarried?
Yes.
Is abortion wrong?
... Yes. Even more so than having a child out of wedlock.
Is contraception wrong?
I don't know? I would think such a thing is more of the woman's prerogative.
Is there one true religion?
I would have said yes, a while ago. Now, I am not so sure- only that what is more important is what a religion is, is what it does, and how the people that belong to it act, individually.
Does a deity or deities exist?
Yes.
How important is it to believe in a deity or deities?
... I wouldn't know. Maybe it depends on how active He is in your life?
How important is it to actively practice your religion?
Again, I wouldn't know. I- I'm not particularly active myself. *sheepish*
Does magic exist?
Yes.
Is practicing magic wrong?
Magic is a tool, nothing more. It isn't good or evil in itself, but in what it is used for.
Is killing always wrong?
No.
Is war always wrong?
No.
How old is old enough to fight in a war?
I was 13 when I started. There were boys on board ship who were younger, though.
Is rape always wrong?
Yes.
Is torture always wrong?
For the most part, yes. I could imagine there could be situations where it would be needed, but they would have to be very Dire.
Is theft always wrong?
No. There are circumstances when it is, and then when it is not.
Is slavery wrong?
*after a moment of thought* Yes.
Is lying wrong?
It is. There are, however, circumstances when it is needed to prevent greater wrongs and to protect others.
Is swearing wrong?
Yes. *wryly* Though there are other things that are much more worse, so... it isn't something to overly worry about.
Yeah, looking back at this, you can rather tell which of his role models had influence over certain areas more than others. *amused*
